Bitterne Youth 6 Alresford Town 1
Bitterne Youth 6 Alresford Town 1: I was hoping that our recent two victories away from home would be repeated against a side who we had played earlier in the season and we started well passing the ball on the ground and looking sharp. A nice move in midfield released Ben Cholerton down the left wing who ran on to cross to the edge of the box where William Smith hit a first time shot past the keeper to his left to give us a 1-0 lead after only 5 minutes. Bitterne rallied and hit three goals before half time all from corners or crosses which we failed to clear or simply let past. The effort from the boys was good throughout but we continued to let ourselves down by being second to the ball and failing to clear when the opportunity occurred which resulted in a further three goals in the second half.
Our own flapjack supplies were generously augmented today by our opponents who supplied another tin for our boys at full time in thanks for our kindness earlier in the season .
